#AskTheExpert Hello doctor. greetings from us. my baby is 3yrs 6 months old. she is very active. she is not speaking well.what can i do to make her speak well?..

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. proper language / speech development will start between 18 months of age to 2 years of age.
there is no need to worry before that just concentrate on the diet and regular interaction with the child.
also speech and language develops properly with more people available to interact with the child
avoid usage of tv mobile and laptop because they are the most common reasons for delayed speech and language development.
the most important thing is that before speech underzstanding of the commands given by the parents should be present.
by 18 months if the chidld is not following basic commands then only you have to meet the doctor
requiremexnt of speech therapy will also be discussed by your doctor

To help the child speak clearly in simple words, it is important for parents to keep conversing in sentences while emphasizing on certain words so that she tries to copy them. Read her stories, do pretend play games, talk more and use less gestures. Encourage her to keep speaking and ask questions. If possible, let her mingle with kids of her age as this way they learn fast.
