A. Frequent jerks in an 11-month-old baby can sometimes be normal, such as when they occur during sleep (called hypnic jerks) or due to immature nervous system responses. However, if these jerks happen while your baby is awake, are frequent, or seem unusual (like repetitive movements or stiffness), it’s important to consult a pediatrician. They can assess whether these are normal developmental occurrences or signs of conditions like seizures or neurological issues. Prompt evaluation will provide clarity and ensure your baby’s health and development are on track.
