Mom of a 3 yr 3 m old boy1 Year ago
Q.

#asktheexpert Hello doc my son is 1.5 years old.. I give him 5-6 meals on daily basis comprising 3 main meals and 2-3 small snack meals. Now at the night the main problem occurs is that even after having his dinner around 8:30-9pm and then taking my feed he sleeps around 9:30-10pm but after 2-3 hours he wakes up and cries a lot till the time I don’t breastfeed him and then continuously after every 2 hours or so he wakes up takes little feed and sleeps. this happens till 8 in the morning when he finally wakes up. and if I don’t give him feed and ignore, he simply cries a lot and I have no choice left but to feed him. Due to this i am not getting sound sleep. What should be done? I know ppl say u should stop giving him breastfeed but doc he takes it only while sleeping and during the whole day i give him proper meals. I am really troubled due to this night habit of his🥹

A. Give proper tummy full diet to your baby before sleeping. So that baby does not feel hungry at night very much and does it reduces the feeding time And also for some time sleep in another room which will help baby to avoid feeding at night . try to keep the child playful during daytime

A. Try to stop it slowly. Gradually cut down the intake. Day time try to nurse more and frequently like should compensate for night hours. Distract with toys songs or take for walk whenever they demand. Also remember its just a phase don't worry it happens too
