#asktheexpert Good morning Madam, Our baby boy born on 9th of June, already 3 months old as of now. Our baby boy Guhan is healthy in all aspects, but still unable to control and lift his head on his own. He can able to turn but cannot lift the head without support. Is this expected? Kindly let us know what we need to do to make him able to handle his head on his own. Best Regards, Jaya Lakshmi

A. neck holding of the child should be present by 4 months to maximum 5 months of age. regular massage of the back as wezll as the neck will help in strengthening the muscles of this area. if neck holding and head holding is not proper by the end of 5 months it is important to meet the doctor for examinaxtion to find the cause of delayed milestones
