A. Generally, babies under 6 months old do not need extra water besides breast milk or formula, as they get enough hydration from milk. Giving too much water can be harmful. After 6 months, small amounts like 30-60 ml (1-2 ounces) of water per day can be introduced along with solids. For babies younger than 6 months, it’s best to avoid water unless advised by a pediatrician. Always consult your doctor before giving water to very young babies.
