Q.
#AskTheExpert Dr My son is suffering from fever since last 3 days ..his fever is fluctuating from 100 to 104 degree Celsius .Whenever I m giving Ibugesic plus and Ziprox his fever reduces and after 4-5 hrs fever again rises to 103.-104 and he starts shivering also he is feeling burning sensation in eyes ....Please let me know whether it's normal in viral fever

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having.
give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food.
keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever
armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever
to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water.
higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.
