Q.

#asktheexpert Dr my baby is 2 and a half months old, she has a really bad cough in November she got better after seeing the local pediatrician with medication in 2 weeks, now she is showing signs again. I turn on the humidifier everyday, she doesn't even go out, see people or have contact with any ill people. what should I do and which medication should I give to her?

A. I was told by the pediatrician that the nebulizer won't work at this stage, i should give steam only. Humidifier is because in winters the air moisture lowers which results in dryness in air which is the main cause for infants respiratory problems. It's just for the winters. These drops I was giving.

A. Apart from medication you should go for nebulising your child is going to be a lot benefiting I would also I would certainly like to tell you stop using humidifier these things are going to be temporary for the child and unnecessarily don’t get your child to all these things it’s not healthy in the long run
