#AskTheExpert Does calcification of placenta in early weeks of pregnancy in 20 weeks a issue or concern for foetus and it's growth...and if yes what precautions I can take for the same

A. yes calcification of placenta is not normal and you need to have proper detailed information about this with your doctor so that proper management can be done within time as calcification in early stage reduces the supply to the baby

A. Placenta calcification from 37 weeks is considered normal and is not a reason to induce labour or to have a c-section. Women with this condition may simply need to see their doctor more often to check their baby's growth. Placenta calcification before 37 weeks becomes more dangerous for the baby.
