Q.

#AskTheExpert Doctor I'm on my 38 wek as per LMP and on 37 week as per scan done on 12th August. on 12 my Doc has told I'm 1cm soft dialated - what does that mean? also my doc has suggested NST on 19, my EDD initially was 1st week of sept, am i expecting delivery any time soon or only after August?

A. If you have regular cycles than the EDD Based on your last menstrual period date is only accurate. 1 cm dilation could be there for many people but if it is increasing only then we need to be concerned about itWrite Your Answer Here

A. I was pregnant last Year July with LMP on 15th July, then had a medical abortion in October due to no cardiac activity, got my periods in November on 16 and i tested positive so my current LMP is nov 16, now I'm unsure if it has to be considered regular

A. Effacement happens hand-in-hand with dilation, although effacement may begin first. As with dilation, it can take weeks, days, or hours to reach full effacement. Once your cervix is 100 percent effaced and 10 cm dilated, you're ready to start pushing your baby out into the world.
