Q.

#AskTheExpert Can we use bottles to feed 2 month old baby. I am using spoon now but it’s tedious and my baby gets irritated.

A. Yes u can. But the baby may have a nipple confusion. If u r parallely Breastfeeding as well as bottle feeding then u may try using Medela calma bottle and teats. It worked for my kids. This bottle works similar to Breastfeeding. The milk won't come unless the baby sucks. It will give the same feel as feeding from the mother. You may give it a try. Also the following precautionary measures should be taken. You should wash the bottle with a bottle cleaning liquid and sterilise it ( in boiling water or use a steriliser) after every use definitely otherwise baby may get bottle infection. You should change the nipple whenever you see a wear or tear or when the nipple changes color or in two to three months whichever is the earliest. You should change the bottle if u notice a crack or discoloration or once in every four to six months again whichever is the earliest.
