# AskTheExpert Can stomach infection cause the stomach and back alone to be hot??The temperature taken in armpit is 88.6 F' ..Please advice

A. No Then this thing has got nothing to do with stomach infection sometimes the body temperature can vary from place to place sometimes you will see the forehead is warmer than the body sometimes the body is warmer than the forehead so you put a thermometer in the mouth that we will get the right temperature for the child
