#AskTheExpert can i stop breast milk through a medicine....

A. it is not advisable to take medicines to decrease the milk because you will see that as soon as the child stops taking breast feeding the milk formation will decrease on its on by feedback mechanism in the body

A. Yes u can. But Instead of weaning abruptly like applying neem oil or something else the below approach can be stress-free for both the mother and the baby. First try to regularize the Breastfeeding and solid feeding schedule and stop feeding on demand. Then Start weaning slowly. Stop one feed first during day time. Make the child forget it by diverting her with any interesting play or story or take her outside. After stopping that feed for couple of days, stop oned more feed. Slowly you will get to a place where you will be giving only night feed. Then you should start weaning the night feed. Take it slowly.
