Q.

#asktheexpert before pregnancy I don't have thyroid problem, but after confirmation of pregnancy my thyroid increased to 5 , doctor suggested thyronorm 25 mcg. I am taking it regularly and level has reduced to 1 , I m 6 month pregnant, should I go for regular test of thyroid or is it ok and upto what time I have to take this medicine

A. yes during pregnancy the thyroid level should be checked every 2 months so that the medication doors can be decided don't get stressed out as in many cases thyroid may remain during pregnancy and reduces after delivery

A. you are taking the medicine the level has been balancing and it would be better if you can have frequent test since thyroid can be a problem during pregnancy and you would have to take necessary precaution based on that which would be better
