POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy5 months agoA. It is quite normal for a one-week-old baby to pass gas frequently, even up to 15–20 times a day. Newborns have an immature digestive system, and as they begin to digest breast milk or formula, they often swallow air, which can lead to gas. Occasional crankiness is also common as babies adjust to feeding and digestion. To help relieve gas, try gentle tummy massages, bicycle leg movements, and burping your baby well after each feed. If your baby is feeding well, passing stool regularly, gaining weight, and not excessively crying, it’s usually not a cause for concern. However, if the gas is accompanied by vomiting, refusal to feed, or constant discomfort, it’s best to consult your pediatrician.
