POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy5 months agoA. It is normal for some babies to not burp after every feed, especially if they are calm and not swallowing much air. However, if your baby isn’t burping and is spitting up milk even after burping, it could be due to gas, overfeeding, or reflux.
To help your baby burp, try holding them upright for at least 10–15 minutes after feeding. You can also try different burping positions, like holding your baby over your shoulder, sitting them on your lap while supporting their chest, or laying them across your lap and gently patting their back.
If your baby spits up small amounts of milk occasionally but is happy, gaining weight, and doesn’t seem uncomfortable, it is generally normal and nothing to worry about. However, if the spit-up is frequent, forceful (projectile vomiting), or your baby is fussy and refusing feeds, consult a pediatrician to check for reflux or other digestive issues.
