A. At 6 months, you can start with 2–3 spoonfuls of solid food once a day and gradually increase to 2–3 small meals a day. Begin with soft, easily digestible foods like rice cereal, mashed banana, stewed apple, boiled and mashed carrot or sweet potato, and moong dal water. Offer only one new food at a time and wait for 3 days before introducing another to check for allergies. Continue breastfeeding or formula feeding as the main source of nutrition, about 5–6 times a day. Keep the texture smooth and semi-liquid initially.
