A. around 4 to 5 months old They'll start sitting with support (leaning on you, or propped up on pillows) once they have good head and neck control, usually around 4 to 5 months old. Soon after, babies learn to lean forward on their hands to balance while sitting. Between 6 and 8 months old, babies get the hang of sitting independently.
