#askthedoctor is 98.6 temparature is considered aa fever or not in 3.5years kids

A. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper f dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations. cold sponging of thge whole body with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .

A. No. It would be considered as normal temperature only till 99° fahrenheit be considered it as normal temperature once your child crosses a temperature of 99° fahrenheit then it would be considered as mild fever in that it is definitely recommended to give medicine to the child
