99.1 F temparature is considered as fever for 1 month old baby boy?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed .bt Lukewarm spongge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

RashmiMom of a 11 yr 2 m old girl1 Year agoA. 99°F when the thermometer is going to show you that means there is fever it could be of course more than that with passing time but yes it is fever for your child child so I would recommend you to give paracetamol as of now that’s going to be much beneficial to be given
