#askthedoctor hi doctor, my 9 month daughter didn't poop since last 5 days...please help me out...

A. at this age the child should pass stool regularly. if the consistency is hard and the child is having pain while passing stool it is considered as constipation. give plenty of water and fibre diet to the child it is important to give fibre diet fromg cereals pulses vegetables and fruits avoid giving more than 400 ml milk everyday and avoid giving packetg and processed foods as well as biscuits and refined foodg adding papaya , fennel seeds water , oats pear prunes pineapple banana kishmish to the regular diet will help in decreasing constipation

A. If your baby seems constipated, consider simple dietary changes: Water or fruit juice. Offer your baby a small amount of water or a daily serving of 100 percent apple, prune or pear juice in addition to usual feedings. These juices contain sorbitol, a sweetener that acts like a laxative.
