#askdoctors Is vaccination is safe for lactating mother's my baby is 13 month now

A. Covid vaccination like covishield/ covaxin in the breastfeeding mothers can be given very safely . According to the latest guidelines issued by healthy ministry pregnant women can also be now safely given the current available vaccines . so they can also register at covin app. Minor complications like feygver lethargy pain at injection site can be handled safely by taking paracetamol . Presently children are not included in this list. Mothers can feed their child as soon as required after the vaccination very safely with no side effects in the child.

A. it is absolutely safe to take the covid-19 vaccine for lactating mothers At present there is no problem a lactaing mother can take the covid-19 vaccine and continue to breast feed the baby as the government has also given permission for breastfeeding mothers take the vaccine no problem take the vaccine
