#ask the expert I am 23 years old mom of 8 week old baby. I had flat nipples and so much worried in breastfeeding my baby.I was using nipple shield to feed him from the very first day.I always have leaking breast. But my baby don't get full from only breastfeeding. After some time of suction no milk is coming out.So I gave him lactogen too. Is there any adverse effects on my baby's health due to the continuous usage of nipple shield?? Why my baby is not getting full even I have leaking breast? What can I do to make my baby enough with breast milk?

But he is not getting full from my breast milk alone.what can I do for it?
Also is there any health issues to my baby with the usage of nipple shield

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 9 m old girl4 years agoA. there is side effects and ling term oroblems with giving formula so stop. use nipple shield.
Baby should be given only breast milk till 6 mnths of age as breast milk has natural antibodies for baby s immunity and IQ development.
