if the consistency is hard and the child is having pain while passing stool it is considered as constipation.
give plenty of water and fibre diet to the child
it is important to give fibre diet from cereals pulses vegetables and fruitsx
avoid giving more than 400 ml milk everyday and avoid giving packet and processed foods as well as biscuits and refined food
adding papaya , fennel seeds water , oats pear prunes pineapple xbanana kishmish to the regular diet will help in decreasing constipation.

you can try some homemade remedies and take necessary care and precautions which definitely help to cure it :
for example:
maintain good hydration throughout the day
give spinach soup, tomatoes soup, fruits like pear papaya plum banana etc to your child more
give juice of soaked Black raisins daily in morning
