A. At 8 months and 12 days old, it’s normal for babies to be at different stages in their development. The fact that Anaya can walk with support and sit cross-legged is a positive sign of her developing motor skills. Regarding sitting cross-legged, it is generally okay for babies to sit in that position, as it helps with flexibility and strengthens the muscles needed for sitting independently in the future. However, it’s important to make sure she is comfortable and not forced into any position for long periods, as babies should be encouraged to move freely. Key Points for Sitting: Encourage sitting with support: You can help her practice sitting by propping her up with pillows or cushions to support her back. This helps her build the strength and coordination needed for independent sitting. Avoid forcing positions: As long as Anaya is comfortable, it’s fine if she sits cross-legged. Just be sure she doesn't stay in the same position for too long. Tummy time: Keep up with tummy time, as this helps strengthen the muscles necessary for sitting, crawling, and eventually walking. If you are ever concerned about her development, it’s always a good idea to consult with your pediatrician, but overall, Anaya is likely progressing well.
