POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. A 45-day-old baby having colic is quite common. Colic usually means long, frequent crying spells in an otherwise healthy baby, especially in the evening or night, often starting around 2–3 weeks and peaking around 6–8 weeks.
Colic Signs: Crying for 3 or more hours a day, at least 3 days a week Baby clenches fists, arches back, or pulls legs up Crying usually happens at the same time each day Baby may look uncomfortable or try to pass gas Possible Reasons: Immature digestive system Gas or bloating Overstimulation Hunger or overfeeding Reflux (in some cases) What You Can Do: Burp often during and after feeding Tummy time (supervised) or lay baby on tummy over your lap Colic drops like simethicone or gripe water (only after pediatrician’s approval) Cycling baby’s legs to relieve gas Keep baby upright after feeding for 15–20 minutes Try gentle rocking, white noise, or warm baths Ensure baby is not hungry or overfed
If the crying is non-stop, or the baby seems to be in real pain, refuses feeds, or has fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, consult your pediatrician immediately
