2.3 yera old baby having constipation since 3 weeks. Had to give enema for passing stool. Giving laxative but no relief yet. kindly suggest something. She is crying very hard while trying to pass stool.

A. Constipation is usually a very common problem seen in many cases where the most important causative factor is decrease intake of high fibre diet along with lesser fluid intake. some food like junk food mostly containing maida and oily food can aggravate such condition. diet modification shougtld be tried first followed by medications like lactulose milk of magnesia and PEG .
