A. It’s not uncommon for some babies to experience a delay in teething. Most babies get their first teeth between 6 and 12 months, but it's also normal for some babies to not have teeth until after their first birthday. If your 1-year-old hasn't had any teeth come in yet, here's what you can do: 1. Don't Panic: A delay in teething is often normal and doesn't usually indicate any health issue. 2. Nutrition: Ensure your baby is getting a diet rich in calcium and vitamin D to support healthy tooth and bone development. If your baby isn’t drinking much milk, you can offer yogurt, cheese, and leafy green vegetables. 3. Teething Symptoms: Watch for signs of teething, like drooling, fussiness, or gum rubbing. Sometimes, teething symptoms start weeks or months before the teeth actually break through. 4. Gentle Gum Massage: You can gently massage your baby's gums with a clean finger to stimulate them. 5. Consult a Pediatric Dentist: If you're concerned, consult a pediatric dentist for advice. They can check if everything is progressing normally. Many babies who teethe late still develop a full set of healthy teeth without problems, so patience is key!
