Its better to give stewed apple and carrot puree as these both I have given to my baby in 5month
and he happily ate.

I Elley grt to know but my baby is a premie and now 5 months completed. she isn't yet sitting on her own, how do I go about starting semisolids and how much each feed ? how many tyms a day and after breast feed or before ??
although I want to wait till she completes 6 as her head still wobbles .

i am going to feed my baby moong dal for the first time.she is of 6 months.should i blend daal and strain it ? or just strain it without blending so that she only gets water? plz suggest

Dont give dal water as it displaces the nutrients present in BM/ Formula..hand mash the dal and feed

I have started solids by giving bananas and papaya initially . All in mashed form not in puree form. This helps babies to learn how to chew from initial stage .

When our daughter completed six months and it was time to introduce her to solids, our paediatrician told us- feed her all that you eat, of course by introducing each veggie/fruit/rice/roti etc, one by one, to check for allergies, if any. We maintained the consistency/softness of whatever we fed her according to her teeth, gradually changed it with the growing number of teeth. Only grated, if required, but never pureed, as our paediatri mentioned that babies need to appreciate both texture and flavour. We haven't given her cerelac or the like or cooked special food for her.
Thanks to the advice, now at 20 months, she practically eats everything that we eat. Incidentally "karela" is her favourite!
