Difference between today’s parenting and earlier parenting: now a days because of nuclear family parents of there to care for their baby.
In earlier days grandma grandpa was and others member are also there to care for the baby. So mom can do other house works. But now a days every body is busy with their own works. Mom have to be there for her baby.

I feel my husband is over protective or may be over possessive about our daughter because if He see single mosquito bite on her skin,he starts screaming "why did not you put mosquito repellent patch or cream to her".

During the time when my baby was crawling,he never use to leave her to crawl on the floor unless it was covered by some mat, thinking she may get infection through the dust.

During our days of childhood we enjoyed lot in dust.

absolutely, its precisely also because the environment is far more unsafe then earier times.. there is no other option left but to keep an eye on kids on matter were they are untip they reach an age where they ciuld fugure out good and bad for themselves

yes we being more protective to our child , is making them more obstinate by nature , earlier generation was left to play anything anywhere and so they were less playing with those tantrums unlike today's child. I think today's children are independent to choose their hobbies and we as parents support them too, but are they really independent or somewhere we are giving them 1-2 choices , earlier child was allowed to do anything , and as no one care what they want to do they choose and grow with their own perfection and so they know difficulties.

Definitely yes, we are trying to build a cocoon for them and the amount if freedom we had during our childhood they are being abandoned by it. This over-pampering is making them less independent more introvert. They feel Crying is the solution for everything.

after particular age, we should start to make baby independent for their basic things

I think, till age of 2 years, keep baby as Princess or Prince, after That should start teaching human values like respect elder, difference in good and bad.
Caring is necessary, but we should make them learn overcome obstacles also.
So, mother should follow her own instincts.
