yes today's parenting is absolutely different from earlier. As per me as a new mom I wanted my baby to be smart enough and I try to teach him very interestingly, while earlier parents use to focus on other daily work more than their children and they were not even worried about upbringing of child bcos the families earlier were joint family where children used to learn by themselves looking to their siblings. But now in the neutral family children don't have any reference likes siblings and other members from whom they can learn well so it's the need for today's parents to teach their children right from small things to make their own decisions. We being a today's parents are not wrong in parenting as everyone says we are overprotective, we are not overprotective we just try to teach our children in a different way and I think it's the need of today's generation bcos its a digital world and our children will use mobiles, laptops etc. but as a parent we need to restrict the time to use the devices and make our children to play with other things or else children won't get physically strong.
