Do you think that indian parents still consider sons as assets & daughters as liabilities? What can we do to change this mindset?

Can see conservative our Indian society still has this boy’s assets,being a single mom of8 months old daughter people use to say who will take care if u when u grew older I I tell no matter what if our upbringing is good as our child will

I think likewise sons are assets daughters are assests too for her family , I think it will be intrusive if we say girls are liability because being a girl they take care of her family like a son does , and that too more nicely comparatively to sons, I think society is changing now they are accepting more girl child and definitely one day India will be having more girl population then men’s , I think why parents think girls are liabilities coz of dowry still this system is alive in some parts of India ,if this system vanishes then trust me none of the parent will ever think that girls are liabilities rather they will pray to have girls .. like I am an Indian parent too and I am proud that I have a daughter and I will be more proud if my second child will be a girl too .. I still remember my mum telling me once society k liye ek beta hona bhi jaruri hai if this kind of thinking is still there in her so no doubt many a parent think like this and trust me now a days girls are going out and earning like man does so why we are distinguishing between them .. embrace daughters and trust me they are the once who will embrace you when u will get older not your sons 😊 .

My parents never differentiated and I always heard such discrimination exited only in backward or illiterate people but when I became mother and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl their was one person in my family , a very close relative who is also educated and government teacher . The word he used got on my nerves ...he said she gave birth to a girl omg ,,, this sounds very decent in english but the way he said in native language was worst . So such people exists and will exist no matter what .
