What pH Value One Should Look For While Choosing a Baby Care Product?

Gaurav Father of 2 children 3 years ago
The pH is a measure of Acidity and Alkalinity of a substance. It is measured on pH scale or bar where 0 indicates acidic and 14 indicates alkaline. Water has pH value 7 which is neutral and the the pH value ranging from 0-7 is acidic and the 7-14 is alkaline.
Healthy skin has a pH of 5.5 which is somewhat acidic. But baby’s skin varies from adults skin. The new-born babies have slightly higher pH almost close to neutral.

When the baby is born, skin pH is 7. The acid mantle which protects the baby’s delicate skin takes a few weeks to 3 months to develop the pH of the skin then becomes5.5. Using baby skin care with pH5.5 like Sebamed Baby, help to develop this protective Acid Mantle faster. The cold & dry winter climate can make your baby’s delicate skin even more dry, flaky and chafed. Here are a few tips to ensure your baby’s skin is health and hydrate throughout winter.
