What pH Value One Should Look For While Choosing a Baby Care Product?

When a baby is born the skin pH is 7 unlike adult's healthy skin which has a pH of 5.5. Moreover, the baby’s skin is 20% thinner and very delicate hence needs specialized care. Using alkaline baby skin and hair care products with a pH >7 even if they are natural can damage the protective barrier, leading to skin dryness and roughness and might lead to increase in skin infections.Tell us what do you think about using pH 5.5 products for your baby's healthy skin.Gratification - 3 Lucky Winners to get a SebaMed Gift Hamper worth Rs. 800

Skin’s pH acts as a protective barrier because of the acid mantle. It neutralizes alkaline based substances like harsh surfactants and also inhibits the growth of bacteria and restores skin. If skin’s pH rises into alkaline range it’s natural balance is disturbed. It can become dry, sensitive and infected. If the baby’s skin pH can be high then the baby is prone to dermatitis or has inflammatory skin or has less miniaturisation.

Baby's skin is more thiner than adults skin and so is very delicate. Also baby's skin is more prone to dryness and infections if soap with correct pH value is not used. Ideally soap with pH of 5.5 can protect baby's skin.

Ph 5.5 balance serves barrier against potentially hazardous irritants and germs in environment.
Even a slight departure from ph 5.5 may result in many skin issues,
example,1.Dryness
2.fatigue
3.rashes and pimples
especially on delicate infant skin.
How sebamed protects these kind of issues by their ph 5.5 balance soap,
1. It prevents harsh lipid removal from the skin.
2.Soap that blocks water loss through the skin surface.
3.Very soothing relief and soft suffle skin after cleansing.
