preparing for baby..... a good start but before that money matters a lot
u need to consult a good gynecologist after delivery a good paediatric and then vaccination and many more a long list....
A couple can make small fixed deposits according to their baby birthday and after birth many insurance policies provide a good policies for baby so u can have them..
be sure both the partner make equal contribution in baby's further needs

Before planning a baby, one should start investing a little amount in multiple areas which will turn out into savings then after some time e.g. Fixed Deposits, Mutual Funds etc. It depends on the situation and salary as well that what plans do you have for home, car etc. i.e. Before baby or after baby. Small saving from different sources from the beginning will come out as a treasury in a periodic manner. Once baby is born, one can look out for investment plans for baby e.g. If it's a girl, one can look out for govt. Sukanya yojna and if it's a boy, there are multiple plans offered by insurance companies. This is what we have followed till now and works best too.

Adding a new member to our family is giving us happiness and responsibility as well . Till they go to school there is different expenditure and after school a little more . And of course graduation matters more . So before having the baby first we have to think of the long term . I.e, graduation . We can make one long term savings in order to support them during their graduation . Secondly few pity savings after their birth as we will need to spend a lot depending on the rituals of individual family . Till 1 year there will be many occasions. And also expenses to visit Dr and baby products . For school also we will have start savings after they are born .
