A Boy Child or a Girl Child have been treated differently since ages. A desire of having a 'Son' rather than a 'Daughter' is still there in most parts of the country.Does it really matter for you? Why do you think our society has this preference for having Son rather than Daughter?

In some Indian family they still prefer it is necessary or mandatory to give birth to boy because they will run their family name...it is not only that the Male ( In-laws) desire but also the Female's family members desire this as their girl who has got married will get Respect from In-laws. They say like ( Ek Pehle ladka hojaye to bus fir no problem second baby kya hai ladki ya ladka).
I m blessed with Beta n Beti...my husband wanted a Girl...n yes we are happy with both.

i am a proud mother of a girl child. The very notion that son will stay, take the family name forward and take care in old age is the main reason i feel. Girl child is the paraya dhan and taking any help from daughter is considered equal to being shameless in society by everyone. Its the society. No body respects a ghar jamai but everybody appreciates the bahu who takes care of in laws. The society needs to change. Then people will change too.

yes...gender matters...and both are just perfect creatures of god.
none should try to become the other they both have their set of characteristics and both are precious.
