A Boy Child or a Girl Child have been treated differently since ages. A desire of having a \'Son\' rather than a \'Daughter\' is still there in most parts of the country.Does it really matter for you? Why do you think our society has this preference for having Son rather than Daughter?
Boy V/S Girl
yes it very much exists in our society..women themselves want sons or want their daughters and daugher in laws to have a son instead of a daughter because they believe that they will get their daughter married to some other family..so much expenses and then they will have their son live with them..and become their budhape ka sahara

Yes , it exist I faced it.. on time of my second delivery I and my daughter wants a baby girl to accompany her but when our prayers are blessed some people came to actually console our family for not having a baby boy, even now my in-laws didn\'t know that I already done an operation for locking the family planning as I didn\'t want to force myself in future over others desire of boy ..
so yes it still exists

When I was pregnant, I wished to have a baby girl. There was no strong logic behind that thought. However when I actually hold my baby for the first time I realised that, it doesn\'t matter whether someone gives birth to a boy or girl. Only thing matters here is, whether the newborn is healthy or not, whether the newborn has any birth defect ( including genetic problems) or not. In our society there is a preconceived idea that , after marriage, girls become the part of a new home where as, boys maintain the ancestry. Therefore people wish more to have a baby boy compared to a baby girl. Here I would like to ask a simple question, if there is no girl , then who will be going to give birth to the ancestor ? Things are getting changed now. Girls are making their own identity. So it\'s not like girls become the part of a new family after marriage. No. A married woman is still a part of her own family. She gets an additional family after marriage. So now it doesn\'t matter whether a boy or a girl maintains the ancestry. Without proper ratio of boys and girls we can not build a nation.
