A Boy Child or a Girl Child have been treated differently since ages. A desire of having a \'Son\' rather than a \'Daughter\' is still there in most parts of the country.Does it really matter for you? Why do you think our society has this preference for having Son rather than Daughter?
As a mommy to be very soon I dont have such preference ..at this point of time I just want my baby to be healthy and hearty..we are three sisters all doing good in their respective ways..and taking care of our parents at the same time..my parents never differentiated between we sisters and our brother... and result we all are successful..but coming to next question why the need to make diffrences arise is that there are n number of reasons which I have came across while looking around in our society, friends and according to viewpoint of some of my close friends also .
1) In todays time also when a baby is born we all are interested in Knowing the gender of newbie.. age-old mentality??
2) sense of security is more with boy child and less with girl child??? though in todays time crime rates are equal against both but still??
3) later dowry demands and girl child treated as liability???
4) Parents inherent tendency regarding post death rituals which still is completed by sons.
5) sons are flag bearers of thier so called Lineage??girl child fails to keep her sirname intact??
6) Post marriage girls cant take responsibility of her parents as sons..not because they dont want to but because inlaws family is against..many of them are dependent on their husbands financially..and so on..
I think in our hearts we all girls here on this platform reading my post would feel the reasons to be true though we may not have belief on any of these..but how many of us are taking care of our parents as our husbands do?..if our parents in need how many of us can spare a buck without consulting our family?and leave others how many of us have control on or truely own our money??

I took it in positive manner.. it does matter to select clothes.. ;) should I buy new clips and bands for my baby or a cute bowtie shirt for photography :)
it is very shameful that popular application like first cry is asking these kind of question. Why do you need to arise this question????

Asking questions isnt bad, is it?
Does it mean it is advocating any particular gender preference?
Its always easy to jump to arguments and/or oppose.
The point here is, it is asked - why do u think sons society has preference of son over daughters.
If you don\'t think it is like this, then you can comment accordingly stating you don\'t think so sons are given preference over daughters.
Others may agree or disagree depending on their experiences in their families n society.
How does it make this question shameful? Does not asking a question bring about a change in situation existing or influence it in anyway? Like wise, asking it too doesn\'t, as long as we take the question in the right sense.
