Fathers can play a key role in bolstering their breastfeeding partner's confidence by showering them with compliments, praising their efforts, and offering words of encouragement. This support role can be particularly difficult when a mother is profoundly tired and discouraged. When a mother is under extreme stress, a man may not know how best to support his mate. He may be uncertain whether she wants to hear, "Don't give up; you can do it!" or "You've done your best. It's okay to switch to bottle-feeding

My breastfeeding journey was not an easy one. It took my baby a month to latch properly. My husband played a very supporting role in my breastfeeding journey. He felt no shame discussing about it with the elders, doctors or midwives. Otherwise a very intimate topic, he made it very comfortable. He watched videos, read articles, supported me, never let me loose patience. I never thought he would be so nicely involved in it. He would wake up everytime I tried to feed the baby. He would give me back rubs knowing that I have been sitting for long. Till the time the baby couldn't feed. He prepared the formula milk, sterilize the bottles whenever needed. He never thought that it isn't his duty. it's my advice to every new parent, be patient, it takes time. Husbands should also be actively involved in every step. you'll relish these moments later. It makes you more closer to each other.
