My partner felt that since I am there he doesn’t need to get involved and also he thinks that after 2 years our baby won’t need me .. rest he doesn’t gives until he is asked for and I stopped asking him

Breastfeeding is not easy as you think.insufficient milk production, retracted nipple, baby refusing breast milk, thrush, cracks the list goes on. Every single change in the diet affects milk production.But a mother can do wonders.

I am a mother of 2 kids ( a boy and a girl) with a gap of 4 years between them. I had c sections in both cases. Hence breastfeeding during the "initial one month" was the most challenging phase i felt during the entire pre and post surgery period of pregnancy.

Frankly speaking during the first delivery, we both (me and my spouse) were completely blank regarding how, when,what,why etc of baby feeding. Even I had a milk fever which lasted for initial 7 days which occured because I could not feed my baby with all the available breastmilk and hence it solidified and caused me much pain. Here comes the importance of my partner as he stayed beside me with all physical and mental support during that initial phase. He carefully understood all details like positioning baby during feeding, burping and time gap for feeding etc during my first delivery time. It really helped me a lot during the second delivery time as my partner remembered each and every act (both do's and don'ts) which we learned from the initial experience. I couldn't remember so accurately everything especially because of my hospitalisation due to milk fever and my c section complications. But I thank my partner for remembering each and every actions and advice as well as experience which we had earlier and ofcourse he also found many tips from parents' blog regarding breastfeeding and helped me to overcome that difficult initial phase successfully.

Most of the women get disappointed when they get less milk, that leads mother into depression. She feels, she is different from others and not capable enough. Partner should constantly council her and encourage with right food and nutrition. Most important partner lovely words.

most of the women's face the problem for not enough milk while breastfeeding to kids , instead of taking medicine do breast excercise during pregnancy it's a best way to get enough milk to kids it's a best solution. partner has a major role he should give support after breastfeeding burping back kids to get relief from gas and provide healthy food for wife.
