The world has changed so much since the times of our mothers and grandmothers, where the quality of food, lifestyle were sublime. Everyone is in continuous competition or just trying to make ends meet, exerting their bodies and minds.
For some solvable reason, I had ovarian cysts throughout my teen years with my first operation at 18-19 years of age.
Working as ground staff for an airline really took its toll on me with me working 11 hours a day with only 30-minute breaks. In the year 2019, I was treated the second time for an ovarian cyst and endometriosis. Little did I know those repeated procedures cut away your fertility. With my dad up in heaven praying, I was lucky I got pregnant in a few months after the operation. Yet due to my uterus still recovering I was on complete bed rest dealing with thyroid too, which wasn’t so bad because the lockdown had just started and I have the best supportive husband. But sometimes it was a bit lonely with no friends allowed to visit nor go out to enjoy the fresh air nor even standing for more than 30-50 minutes the whole day. Even my favourite restaurants were closed, but thankfully my husband is a good cook so I didn’t miss out on much, and my in-laws are the greatest a girl could ever have. Unfortunately, I lost my mother-in-law two months before delivery. Yet with no mother figure, I am blessed by her to continue for my now 4.5-month old baby girl. With post-partum depression in my family history, I’m in constant prayer not to be affected and all I have to do is look at my angel and take each new day with a smile. I’m one of the lucky ones to get the chance to experience this miracle of creating life inside of me given all the negativity going on in this cruel world. Hayley is my blessing from above given by her grandpa and grandma.
