Q.

yesterday nit my baby fall from his small bike. and hit his ear to cupboard corner. ear is full reddish and swelling. he cried a lot. but after some time he calm down and play. I apply ice and give him ibuprifin syrup. but in sleep he start mulagadam. half an hour after that he sleep well. today he was active but didn't touch the ear part.

A. Any Fall injury specially head injury needs to be assessed properly . In any such case certain symptoms needs to be checked like loss of consciousness reccurrent vomiting or any abnormal moment or convulsions . Such case needs immediate medical intervention as there could be some internal injury . Otherwise application of ice locally to reduce the swelling and pain can be done along with some analgesic like paracetamol. Recurrent fall injury for a child should be avoided as it can lead to some chronic manifestations occasionally . Also teeth injury should be rule out in any such case which is commonly cfassociated and can be easily missed out most of the time .
