POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy6 months agoA. Newborns often make throat sounds due to their developing airways, nasal congestion, or milk reflux. Their small and soft air passages can cause gurgling, wheezing, or grunting noises, especially when lying down. Since they primarily breathe through their nose, even mild congestion can lead to snorting or throat sounds. Additionally, some babies have mild reflux, where milk or saliva moves back up the esophagus, creating a gurgling sound. These noises are usually normal and resolve as the baby grows, but if accompanied by breathing difficulty, persistent coughing, or poor feeding, a pediatrician should be consulted.
