POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 8 m old boy10 months agoA. It’s normal for babies to urinate frequently, especially during the early months. However, if you notice that your baby is urinating excessively, there are a few possible reasons for this: Small Bladder: Newborns and young infants have small bladders, which means they need to urinate more often. This can be quite frequent, especially in the first few months. Breastfeeding/Formula Feeding: Babies who are breastfed or formula-fed tend to pee often because their bodies process milk quickly. Breast milk, in particular, is easier to digest, and the liquid content can lead to frequent urination. Hydration: If your baby is drinking more fluids (like breast milk or formula) than usual, it can result in more frequent urination. Normal Growth and Development: As your baby grows, their kidneys mature, and they begin producing more urine as they grow, leading to an increase in urination frequency. Increased Fluid Intake: If your baby is drinking more fluids than usual, this can naturally lead to more frequent urination. Medical Concerns: If your baby is urinating extremely frequently (more than usual), or if you notice any other symptoms like discomfort, fever, or changes in urine color or odor, it’s important to consult your pediatrician. In rare cases, excessive urination can indicate conditions like a urinary tract infection (UTI) or diabetes. If your baby is happy, feeding well, and growing normally, then frequent urination is typically not a concern. However, if you are ever unsure, it’s best to consult a pediatrician to rule out any potential medical issues.

Continue to exclusively breastfeed your baby on demand for better health, nutrition, hydration and weight gain. Consult your child’s doctor for further guidance in this matter, good luck and take care.
