there is no need to worry about this form if the child has no other complaints.
mucus in the stool is very common phenomenon.
it is usually present due to the throat mucus / thick saliva as well as respiratory secretions
which pass on from respiratory tract (parts of nasal cavity , oral cavity and throat) to the gastrointestinal tract by swallowing and then comes out through the anal canal mixed with the stool.
it may be present in less quaxntity during regular times and would be in more quantity during allergy as well as cough and cold in the child.
mucus in the stool is also associated with gastrointestinal infections as a less constipation as well as indigestion.
treatment is usually given according to the cause
