A. Your 4-month-old lifting her butt and moving upward while lying on her back is a normal developmental behavior. Babies often explore their bodies and practice movements like pushing with their legs, which helps build muscle strength and coordination. This “bridging” motion is an early sign of growing motor skills as she prepares for rolling over and crawling later. Encourage her by giving tummy time and plenty of safe space to move and explore.
