A. Generally Toothpaste is not suggested till he knows how to spit out... You can just brush his teeth with water and toothbrush only till then .. or can use fluoride free toothpaste..as there is no harm in swallowing the fluoride free toothpaste... I have started the toothpaste recently after my baby turns 3 years.... so depends on your baby... go for kids special toothpaste like Colgate junior, Chicco, piegon, Mee Mee Mee etc. go for non flouride toothpaste upto 3 years ....then toothpaste having less than 500 ppm flouride for kids upto 6 years... Start with rice grain size toothpaste upto 3 years then gradually increase it to pea size toothpaste ... rinse his mouth everytime after feed... or simply just give him some water to drink... .. .

A. You can start using toothpaste as soon as you start brushing for your child, which is as soon as the first tooth erupts. For children less than 3 years use a non fluoridated toothpaste For children 3-6 years old use a junior toothpaste which has less than 500ppm fluoride For children above 6 you can use any toothpaste which has fluoride more than 1000ppm. You can use any branded product such as colgate, Himalaya, mee mee, chikoo etc for infants.
