Good Growth of the child is very important and for this most important is that child should take a healthy diet where its necessary to give a balance diet which should contain all the nutrition required. This is very important for building the immunity also.
Encourage for green vegetables fruits dairy products all kinds of dal and other protein containing food items like soyabean eggs etc.
Some nutritional deficiencies can be a cause for less appetite like iron deficiency which is most common.
Supplements like iron supplements and multivitamin with lysine like syp zincovit CL can be given for 1-2 months to increjase the appetite. hy
Diet counselling is also very important .

See if you give mashed food to the child your child is going to get used to it and it is going to be trouble for you how long do you think you’re going to give the same food to the child think of it practically and logically that’s not going to work you have to teach your child to eat food properly as what you are mentioning right now is very common with kids but you have to break this habit you cannot give mashed food as that is not the solution to the problem
