A. Babies gradually start sleeping more continuously and for longer stretches as they grow. By around 3 to 6 months, many babies begin to sleep 5–6 hours at a stretch at night, and by 9 to 12 months, they may sleep 10–12 hours at night with 1–2 naps during the day. However, every baby is different, and sleep patterns can vary. To help your baby sleep better, maintain a consistent bedtime routine, ensure a calm sleeping environment, and avoid overstimulation before sleep. If sleep issues continue beyond one year, it’s good to discuss with a pediatrician to rule out any underlying cause.
