A. Deworming is usually recommended for children after 1 year of age, and it's often done every 6 months starting at 18 to 24 months, depending on your doctor’s advice and the child's environment. Here are some general guidelines: First deworming: Often done around 18 months or 2 years if advised by the pediatrician. After that: Usually every 6 months, especially if your child plays outdoors, puts things in the mouth often, or shows signs like: Poor weight gain Stomach pain Frequent loose motions or constipation Itching around the anus Loss of appetite Always consult your pediatrician before giving any deworming medicine. A common and safe option doctors use is Albendazole, but the dosage depends on age and weight. Clean hygiene practices also help prevent worm infections.
