A. It is recommended to introduce semi solid foods in baby's diet between the age of 5-6 months. It is better to feed freshly prepared foods instead of ready to eat ones like cerelac. Yes, feeding foods like lentil puree, mashed banana, apple, pear and carrot puree, ragi and sooji porridge, etc. are always healthier options to start as first foods. Food allergies can be known if baby develops some rashes or vomits after eating certain foods.
